Hi folks back again after after my appointment with encologist on 17/09/24 . Discussion  about chemo or Abiraterone. Having a Decapeptyl injection 3 months previous which brought my psa down from 3.6 to 0.13 I’ve went for the Abiraterone. Having tried enzaludamide before Which sent my blood pressure up the doc says he’ll try me on a half dose to start with. Hot sweat getting worse but I’m happy with the psa drop . I’m a stonemason to trade and still able to work all day although I’m feeling more tire at the end of the week

  • Hi Messi.

Welcome back my friend it's great to see that you had your appointment with the oncologist on the 17/09/24.

Yes I have been on Hormone Therapy since last June 2023 following diagnosis. I am taking Abiraterone tablets and Prostrap 3 monthly injections.

These had dropped my PSA numbers down initially but unfortunately the last 3 tests have shown the numbers increasing unfortunately.

Yes hot sweats are a daily situation which I have to use a large air conditioner and plenty of cold flannels and water.

I would also be very happy with your current numbers and it is great to hear that you are able to continue to work full time.

  • It is good that you are keeping us all up to date.

Not a lot to say except that all treatments need to fit you, and that it might take a while to get the right mix, although judging by the reduction in the PSA levels the right mix will be found.

I am new to this game and have been suffering from mild to medium hot sweats.

My experience right now is that if I take immediate action - take off my shirt, put on a fan, lean out of window etc. - it makes the hot flush less severe and shorter.

I haven't anything much else yet.

I hope that everything goes really well for you.
