Non-live yoghurt during chemo

Hi all

My husband is having chemo, and I'm struggling to find non-live yoghurt. If it doesn't have live cultures in the ingredients, is that ok? Or do I need to look for other reassuring words? Anyone got any UK brand recommendations?

  • Hello downlander - I am sorry I can't answer your post - I am sure someone will. (I don't even like yoghurt!) however as your husband is on the Chemo journey perhaps if you join Chemotherapy forum someone there may have an answer. That's the forum for all Questions and Answers about Chemotherapy Treatment and Side Effects.

If you click on the link provided and the on the opening page click "join" on the black banner at the bottom of the page, you may find an answer there.

    I hope this helps.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Hello Downlander.

I don't know about UK brands but what you can do is gently heat your favourite yoghurt to about 72C, then cool in the fridge. This effectively kills off the bacteria and has little effect on the tasteGrin. Hope this helps Grin
