Does anyone know if once you have finished chemo if you then automatically have RT or does it just depend. Thank you

  • Hi Shar

What we’re you told about your PSA and Gleason, also what stage you are.

RT usually happens about six weeks after chemo, give the body a chance to recover from all the poison pumped into it.

  • Husband started chemo 5 weeks ago. Gleeson was 4×5, . PSA on diagnosis was 59 and after one hormone injection had dropped to 41. The oncologist hasn't done another PSA test since because he said he doesn't get hung up on numbers.

  • Hi

Its early days yet, there may be scans and blood tests, this is a long journey he will be on, mines lasted over seven years still fighting.

  • Thank you. At our last appointment the oncologist said they don't do further scans only psa tests. I need to question him next week about this because surely a blood test won't show if the chemo has shrunk the cancer in his spine or pelvis. He dosent like me asking questions at the best if times so will have to write it down for husband to ask
