I know there is probably another thread on this but I cant find it!
So folks.....has anyone found a miracle cure for these Hot Flushes and Night Sweats ?
So far I've tried Evening Primrose, Cod Liver Oil and Acupuncture (just didn't seem to do anything for me).
I'm 2-weeks into Sage (thanks Brian for the tip) and Matcha - but still flushing at the moment.
Anyone else tried anything that works for them and happy to share?
Thanks all.
Andy
I brought my husband some chill pillows off Amazon and he swears by them.
Hi
The only thing that really worked for me, was to take off something, or throw the duvet off, until I cooled down. Pain in the a**e having to do so every few minutes but it worked for me!

Stuart
Cheers. Have a GP call booked in a week or so and going to explore options. Hey...more meds
Medroxyprogesterone, Cyproterone, or Megestrol
I don't know about the other two but Cyproterone can cause your blood sugar to rise. I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes after taking Cyproterone but it is now in remission again. Many medical professionals are unaware of this even though it is in the PIL. My GP was surprised when I told him the cause.
Good to know. Thanks for that. Every intervention has some sort of side effects doesn't it. Cancer....the gift that keeps giving!
I've been prescribed cyproterone but as Seamus47 said it causes type 2 diabetes ,had a blood test and I am borderline. It's a pity because they totally stopped my hot flushes, now I take half a tablet and I get very few hot flushes.
Hormone therapy also tends to raise blood glucose levels (and also cholesterol levels, and blood pressure). There is one expert in this area who thinks everyone on hormone therapy should be put on Metformin and a Statin, just to counter the standard effects of hormone therapy and its tendency to push patients towards metabolic disease.
Thanks all. I want to avoid more meds if I can. I've been researching menopause magnets and may give those a try once I've given the Chill Pillow a run for its money when it arrives.
