Saw oncologist yesterday. CA125 score is 15 at present and has hardly increased over past few months. So I don’t see him again for 3 months and he is encouraging me to think about a cruise in the new year if I can sort out insurance. Just had couple of weekends celebrating my 70 th birthday which I thought I had no chance of reaching. Will continue on avastin every three weeks as long as this is effective and nhs happy to pay. I now swim and go out more but do feel a bit decrepit at times. He says is old age! So I have been living well with cancer for 20 months or so. Best wishes to everyone and hope you may all do as well as me.

Hi
Thats great news, so pleased the Avastin is working for you, get the cruise booked and enjoy, you deserve it.
unfortunately, it isn’t working for me, got CA125 down to 19 but in 15 weeks it’s gone up to 249 had a scan last week and seeing oncologist on Tuesday to make a decision as to where I go from here, Im sure I will be taken off the trial and probably offered chemo ! Not sure I will take her up on it though, I think I would prefer to live out whatever time I’ve got without feeling so Poorly, not sure how the family will take the news but at the moment that’s how I feel.
take care x
First of all, a virtual hug for you. Sure you feel very alone.
When I first started on this journey my husband and I discussed chemo versus letting nature take its course. I felt so poorly at the time. Anyway we decided to give chemo a go and I felt a bit better so, it was worthwhile if you ignored the bad days. I think you said you had already tried chemo and experience was hard but try to keep an, open mind. Also this is the worst time waiting for an appointment. You just want to know what the choices are and there be more than you think. Please let us know how you go on and if we can be of any help.
love wx
Can you share with us how you got on on Tuesday? Hopefully not as bad as feared. Wx
Hi, you were right, not as bad as I thought, I’m staying on Avastin for the time being at least, my scan showed no further growth or spread ! I’m just so relieved, she said she was not too concerned about the CA125 creeping up as this is not always down to the cancer and could be a number of other things.
It’s all so stressful when you really need to be calm but I’m relieved with the result .
Did you manage to book your trip yet ??
xx Christine
