Hi. I have been treated for Pancreatic cancer at Christie’s Manchester since Sept 2023. Have had Folfirinox ( 26 weeks) which shrank the tumours. Then an 8 week break during which the tumours regrew. I then had Gemcitabine and Cisplatin which had no effect and was stopped. Thirdly i have begun treatment with Pacilatel and Gemcitabine. This is certainly having some effect. My pain has reduced drastically, controlled only by.paracetamol 4 times a day and anti inflammatory tablets. However i have suffered loss of hair and considerable neuropathy in my feet. I would be more than grateful for anyone who can help with advice to stop this. Thanks very much.
Hi Elaineyb
When I had chemotherapy, for a different type of cancer, I took lost my hair but didn't suffer from neuropathy.
Unfortunately, there's nothing that I'm aware of that you can do to stop the hair loss. I bought a selection of head coverings, for when I was out and about, and also a wig.
I don't have any experience with neuropathy but my chemo nurses told me to tell them at the first sign of getting it. I assume you've already spoken to yours.
My partner was treated with Folfirinox and lost his beautiful hair. However, it has now grown back with lovely curls he never had before. It is gorgeous. So you could have more lovely hair than you had before.
