My sister had the Wipple surgery about two and a half months now and she is still struggling with her appetite, nausea and occasional vomiting. She was taken into hospital for a second time due to dizziness and poor food intake. A feeding tube was inserted into her tummy with high protein nutrients but she couldn’t stand the pain of the tube inserted into her throat via her nose. Therefore it was taken out. She was later discharged from hospital with vital energy drinks and a few high energy shots. After a few weeks of still struggling with eating and lack of appetite her weight continued to decline and there seems to be no clear solution to getting on top of the eating problem. We are having a second meeting with a dietitian but that’s seems to be not so helpful. Can anyone share their experience with regards to eating issues and what they did to get through it?
