Hi, I had my Whipple surgery Feb 16, 2018 and have done quite well, however, I have a terrible time with going to the bathroom. I feel the pressure that I need to go, yet when I try to go, I cannot. I have ended up in the hospital man times for this. They say constipation, however, every since Whipple, I have never had a hard stool. Always soft, flakey, and floating with lots of orange oil. I take linzess and motegrity everyday, the highest doses allowed and I still have issue going to the bathroom. I have read you can develop IBS, Crohns, and other intestinal issues. I am bloated most of the time. And have to resort to drinking Go Lytely, the colonoscopy prep drink, just to be able to go to the bathroom. Does anyone else suffer from these types of issues and if so, what are you doing to change or fix it? Thanks
Hi mscof608 and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
