Hi  just had my results from the consultant after have a tumour on my pancreas and attached to my spleen taken out in Spain 7 weeks ago the scan here has shown that the lady surgeon DR Santiago has removed it all no sign of the cancer but showed I have a blood clot in my leg so got to see a vascular consultant now they said even though I am clear it would be best to have a coarse of chemotherapy and I have said yes I think I have to start it in about three weeks he said is about six months just asking what’s it like

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I had chemotherapy for breast cancer and was fortunate that apart from losing my hair and feeling a bit tired, I didn't really suffer with any side effects. However, everyone is different and it also depends on what type of chemotherapy you are having.

It would help the other forum members share their experiences with you if you let them know what type of chemo you'll be having and I'm sure that they'll then pop on to share their experiences with you.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and proposed treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

All the best with your treatment and I hope you have few side effects.
