I just wanted to say hello to everyone with pancreatic cancer and also to wish you all a happy Christmas. Personally, I had a haemorrhagic stroke 5 years ago from which I recovered.  Then I had bladder cancer at the beginning of this year and two ops later made a complete recovery.  Then I had a hospital stay two weeks ago for jaundice which they got rid off thankfully with a bike duct stent but unfortunately my CT scan showed pancreatic cancer metastases to the liver.  I’ve been given about six months without chemotherapy.

I don’t feel too bad and have my appetite back now and all my affairs are in place so I know my wife will be at least physically alright. I’m just sad I won’t be able to share many days with her. Death though, I’m 58, is not my enemy if anything it comes as a relief - and I’m not really sure why I say that.  I don’t feel morbid or depressed - but I am totally at peace with it.

anyway, thanks for reading this and my heart goes out to anyone battling cancer.

  • Hi

I don't have pancreatic cancer but I have had to deal with two cancers in the last 7 years.

Just wanted to wish you all the best and to also suggest that you might like to join the living with incurable cancer forum where you can chat to others in a similar situation to yourself. It's a very active forum with conversations about all sorts of things and I'm sure the other members will make you feel very welcome.

To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
