Hi everyone
Still shocked from information given to me
I have had ct scans for the last 4 years as follow up after bowel cancer surgery. One earlier this year was reported "dialed pancreatic duct but unchanged from previous ct"
I felt a bit perplexed by this and sought an opinion from a liver and pancreatic specialist
Straightaway he told me he was concerned about a"mass/shadow over the pancreas" and I am to have a biopsy. Endoscopic ultrasound and biopsy asap then an mdt after that
I am so frightened. How could this have been missed
I have a fear of endoscopies due to past experiences. I will have to be totally out of it to be able to cope
Thank you for reading this
Sorry things havent turned out well for you. I have pancreatic cancer with metastasis in the liver. I had a biopsy of the liver. Most of the time was the radiographer finding the right spot. It really wasn't too bad and it gave the prognosis that I now have.. Unfortunately it was too late to have any further treatment. The prognosis is 4 to 6 months. I have decided not to.have the chemo
I am 81 and the side effects of the chemo were what I had already gone through and still am. I can understand you wondering how they could have missed it. I had a hysterectomy I February for womb wall cancer. All the MRI`s surely must have given some idea of the pancreas.
Just remember whatever treatment you have might give you the answer. I am frightened it's the fear of the unknown. I will be thinking of youx
