Hi I'm new.
I'm Kirsty
My mum has been diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer. She is 84 and has a pacemaker.
She has refused Chemotherapy.
And Doctor said she is at risk for any further tests.
So we are in Limbo of how long she had.
She's in pain and her Doctor has given her Morphine.
My poor Dad has no idea what's going on as he has Dementia and he's 89 bless him.
Xx
Hi Kirsty1977 and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm sorry to read that your mum has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and it's natural to wonder how much time you might have with her when she's refused to have chemotherapy.
If your mum gives permission to her consultant you could have a chat with them about a possible timescale. However, any time they give you will only be an estimate based on other people in a similar position to your mum.
It would be great if you could put something about your mum's diagnosis and any treatment she's had into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
