Hello, everyone.
My 83 year old Mum was diagnosed with PC some weeks ago. We are all, of course, devastated. We're told it's inoperable because of its position and palliative chemo (Filforinox) and possible radiotherapy is the only option. She's waiting for the referral to be made to the chemo team at the moment. (Don't get me started on admin and disjointed systems!)
I'm joining this group as I am pretty sure that I will need to come and ask some questions here at some point, or look at the answers to questions others have already asked.
Hello, anyway. And thank you for being out there! :-)
Hi peppersmum and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm sorry to read that your mum was diagnosed with PC recently and I know what a difficult time this will be for all the family.
I'm sure the other members of the group will be happy to share any experiences they can with you when you want to ask questions. In the meantime it would be great if you could pop something about your mum's diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
