dear Kate and all,

I promised admin that I’d clean my act up and keep my interminable waffle in a separate thread....so others don’t have to read it. This was in another group.

Anyway, lovely day everyone. Chemo is being pretty rough on me below the waist. Haemorrhoids. Walking funny!

If anyone has any tips for this problem, please let me know.

Pepys xx

How funny! But I have to admit, I didn’t know that expression and had to guess its meaning!

i‘ve been cleaning too but I’m very far from thorough. I can always find something more interesting to do. My style is essentially boho...that’s how I’ve been described and I’m sticking to it haha!

Squeaky, I too much admire your academic work. Study.. learning...is the greatest antidote to sadness, grief and stress. I’m not suggesting that’s the reason you’re doing it though it must help.  I hope you achieved what you wanted today.

I kind of imagined you as a bohemian kind of girl- good for you. My mum has a sign in her kitchen saying “dull women have immaculate houses” I’ve decided to take that up as my mantra. My flat is as clean as it’s going to get. I’ve known my friend for 30 years so she would be more surprised if it was spotless!!

I hope it stays dry for your breakfast you cN always wrap up if it’s cold either way I hope you have a fabulous family visit. Enjoy! You deserve it xx

  • I’m an early morning late night girl! But this morning since 6.30 I’ve been working on a paper for a meeting with my professor on Tuesday.

Aren’t cats amazing. Although it was me who collected her from the Cat Rescue, Florence was my husband’s friend. When he was recovering from surgery and then when on chemo she always settled down beside him. He would say, ‘Purr, purr, purr’ and off she would go purring. After he died it was fully six months before she purred.

When I had breast surgery in 2014 I was in the theatre till 5.15pm and turfed  out at 9.00pm. I pretty well went straight to bed and Benny a cat I had then turned up and crept on to the pillow having never slept on the bed before. He did that for a few weeks then stopped but last year he started to do it again. One night I dreamt I was being chased and I was trying to catch the ‘things’ chasing me and finally caught one. I woke up to a hissing spitting cat whose tail I was pulling! Benny died on the last day of 2017 and thus fat boy Thomas joined the household. Greedy girl Mimi is asleep but will wake up at 4 precisely and scream abuse till I feed her.

However you are affected by PC I hope you may have a peaceful weekend.

So I’ve just posted some heavy crap on another post and instantly regretted it it’s all true and very heartbreaking. I have a sister that is alcoholic, all 4 of her children have issues and give me a very hard time over the years. I can’t bear to be in the same room as most of my family for fear of assault and since my mums diagnosis have to pretend all is well as no one wants to admit the truth. Hey ho shit happens but in very ashamed of most of my family xx

I think most families have issues in them. I could bore you forever about mine! I decided, though, that I’m just going to get on with things. I’m glad Puss seems happy. Florence gets into bed under the covers about 5am and we have some quality time together!

Ah yes, I see my ‘heavy crap’ is in ‘Struggling Daughter’.

Yes, all families have issues, but I would kind of like to disown my lot. A few of the younger ones like to see a couple of us as their role models.  Feel for them. My eldest brother, sleeping peacefully right now, is the family peacemaker and loved by all the young family members. They must have something to aspire to or else we’d be no more than a particularly bad episode of the Jeremy Kyle show.

Families eh it’s true what they say, you can’t pick em.

I was having a proper little self pity party last night. I’ve kicked myself up the backside this morning and reminded myself how lucky I am. I have 2 sisters and one is fabulous. The other may have her issues but I still love her even though I don’t like her most of the time and the best parents and friends that you could wish for.

Hope you’re enjoying your brothers visit Pepys, how long are they staying?

I have my friend here until Monday. Unfortunately I’m working all day today but I have tomorrow off and we’re going to my parents where I will do a full roast. Perfect way to spend a Sunday.

Have a good day all xx

    Dear Squeaky,

thats funny! And a little spooky!

I only have one cat dream where my old cat, Sooty had suddenly developed the gify of speech and told me he felt sad. This was when I first had chemo! Perhaps, too, I’d had a glass of mother‘s ruin...

I'm so enjoying having my brother and SIL here...and they are both so funny. My brother is a year older than me and has always been very protective of me. When I see old photos of us as children. he's always running around after me, covering me up with a blanket etc and that hasn’t changed. Our stupid, abusive parents didn’t deserve us. It is such a gift to have someone who loves you that much.
