Last year I got diagnosed with Stage 3 Low Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer. 6 rounds of cabo taxol chemotherapy, the big Operation in October 25 which was successful and since then take letrozole every day.  My question is this. I've put on 2 stone since my surgery. My energy levels are low and my hot flushes are through the roof. I have osteoporosis and my joint pain is getting worse as the weight increases. This is really getting me down. It's a vicious circle that i cant seen to get out of. Is there anything that helps the side effects. Im seriously thinking of taking a break from letrozole to try and get on top of the weight gain. I have no quality of life.

  • I've been on Letrozole since April and it has kept the cancer from returning so I am in remission for the second time which is GOOD!!  The side effects for me have been the continuing  fatigue which pre-dated the Letrozole so can't blame it for that.  My hair has become incredibly fine and short but no bald patches yet.  I have definitely had some nausea, anxiety and brain fog.  I am an underweight diabetic and I think I have put on some weight but not in a good way and it is because I'm too tired to have kept up my usual standard of exercise.  I sit around a lot, rest a lot etc.  I have recently had a raised CA125 and bloating so was worried the cancer had returned again, but apparently it hasn't and so I will have an endoscopy to see if there is some sort of blockage in my gut which would explain other gastro symptoms.
