Recent Diagnosis and Hello

Hi, I’m sorry you find yourself here. Being in limbo is the worst , such a lot to process. I’m 2 and half years into ovarian cancer , hang on in there, you don’t know for sure yet it’s cancer and if it is there will be treatment for sure. Easy to say but try to stay in the present and if your searching on the internet stick to charity specialist sites such as Ovacome or Target Ovarian Cancer. Be kind to yourself.

One day at a time is the way to go. It is very overwhelming when you don’t know exactly what you’re dealing with . I remember only too well when first diagnosed I was terrified to think about the future. There are so many treatments for OC, there is hope. You will find strength you never knew you had. I live with advanced cancer and have a very good quality of life. Once you know exactly what you’re dealing with and a treatment plan strangely it  does get a bit easier. 

Thanks just found out have suspicions lymph nodes under my arm pit felt my body is just falling apart. I have just have no ideas what the treatment they will start off with me now. Xx

It’s such a tough time, the not knowing. There will be a Multidisciplinary team meeting to discuss everything that the medical team have and the treatment best for you. I’m sure there will be one. The waiting is horrible I know. If it’s ovarian cancer it was explained to me it’s like someone has blown on a dandelion and its seeds blown through the abdomen, not in the organs but outside them . It could be lymph nodes are fighting off unwanted cells or infection, your team will carry out tests to find out. I had widespread cancer with bowel involvement and spread to outside top of stomach. I’m sharing this not to raise anxiety but to try and offer some hope. 2 years in I’m still here and have a good quality of life. It’s quite amazing what can be done.
