I had an ovary removed 13 years ago which turned out to be a benign fibroid.

Fast forward to now..random blood tests has found a CA125 of 59. That’s higher than when I had the initial problem. I seem to remember it was 13 or 14 around that time.

Bearing in mind I only have one ovary…

whats everyone’s thoughts pls?

  • 59 is elevated but not massively. What is more revealing is what it does over time, bearing in mind you need to leave it a month between tests. So what might happen is another test in a few weeks to see what's happening. No doctor would act on this test alone, they rely on bloods, symptoms and scans taken together. So I suspect you may have to sit tight for a bit...unless you have symptoms which might bring forward a referral for a scan.

  • Terrifying as this must feel, you probably won't find any peace till you know what's going on. I hope you don't have to wait too long
