I had an ovary removed 13 years ago which turned out to be a benign fibroid.
Fast forward to now..random blood tests has found a CA125 of 59. That’s higher than when I had the initial problem. I seem to remember it was 13 or 14 around that time.
Bearing in mind I only have one ovary…
whats everyone’s thoughts pls?
59 is elevated but not massively. What is more revealing is what it does over time, bearing in mind you need to leave it a month between tests. So what might happen is another test in a few weeks to see what's happening. No doctor would act on this test alone, they rely on bloods, symptoms and scans taken together. So I suspect you may have to sit tight for a bit...unless you have symptoms which might bring forward a referral for a scan.
