I am 62 and presented in A&E with right abdominal pain on 7 November. GP referral thinking I was suffering from appendicitis. Sadly not the case. A CT scan that night showed a "complex ovarian mass suggestive of peritonal malignant disease"  I have had a biopsy but that was inconclusive so I am now booked to have a laproscopy on 29 December. Feeling very anxious. I had breast cancer back in 2010 and thought this was all behind me

  • Hi.. I have stage3 ovarian cancer, I've had 6 rounds of chemo and debulking surgery apart from a few spots on my peritoneum I'm fortunate that it hadn't gone further,  currently taking Niraparib which I've been taking since early September, this makes me an insomniac! Other than that and initial side effects and low hemoglobin and Niraparib causing stage 1 kidney disease I'm doing ok, monitored weekly at first then  monthly, I also suffered from ascites and had two abdominal drains, I wish you all the luck in the world, as you say its scary, stay strong, merry christmas to you Slight smile

Thank you for getting in touch

It is appreciated. Feeling bruised and sore after laproscopy procedure on last week. Hadn't appreciated just how uncomfortable this was going to be. Next stop oncology appt should hear the results from abnormal cells taken from  omentum and peritoneum. Unable take cells from the mass on ovaries as impacted near bowl. They have also drained fluid from an ascites. Expecting to start chemo and hopefully this will happen sooner than later.

I do have do good news as first grandchild was born on 29 December.

  • Congratulations Heart️ I have 5 grandchildren 3 boys and 2 girls so very blessed, I wish you good luck with your further treatments, they can be gruelling but I'm sure you are strong, God bless
