Ovarian cyst, awaiting CT scan

Hi, I have just joined. I’m 45, was diagnosed with early stage endometrial cancer four years ago and had a hysterectomy but left ovaries in place. No further treatment was needed. Have been having regular screenings since (ultrasound and c125) as I have Lynch syndrome. At my recent ultrasound they found a small cyst (16mm) and I got referred for an MRI scan, which I had a couple of days ago. Today I got a phone call to also book me in for a CT scan. They say they’ve found a ‘slightly unusual appearance to the left ovary’ and want more information. I have the CT scan tomorrow but have to wait until 14th June for an appointment with my consultant. I am absolutely terrified that it is cancer and  really struggling right now.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

Waiting for results is a really hard time and I'll be keeping everything crossed for you. I find that what works best for me is to spend time doing things I enjoy so that my mind is fully occupied and I don't have as much time to wonder about the 'what ifs'. Do you have any hobbies or interests you could throw yourself into? Lots of people find mindfulness really helpful, so I don't know if this is something you could look into.

Someone much wiser than me once told me that 'worrying won't change the outcome but it will ruin the present' and I try to live my life with those words in mind. I don't always succeed but try my best.

    Sending (((hugs))) your way.
