Hello

I am new to this site, although I was diagnosed in April 2020 with Stage 3 Ovarian cancer and have had 6 chemotherapies, a major operation and now on my second course of chemo.

I feel fine, if tired and am lucky to have a very supportive husband and family who keep me going.

I wonder if anyone can help me find a travel insurance policy please?  I have telephoned over 10 companies but every one has been 2K+ (for one holiday!) I would really like an annual policy as I miss the freedom of travelling when we want to, but the cost is prohibitive.

I am keen to make up for time lost to Covid and am aware I may not have too many years left.

Any help would be so appreciated and I look forward to discussions within this group.  Good luck to everyone.

  • I'm in the same time line for treatment and I'm just starting to think about travelling again, I have travel insurance through my bank, I'll let you know next week when I make the call.

  • Thank you for replying.  I have been insured by my bank for may years but now they will no longer insure me or my husband.  I am still looking but to date I have been quoted 2.5K for one trip or 4.5K for a year!!   Any help you can give would be much appreciated.  I have contacted over 10 insurance companies including specialists who cater for illness.

  • Hi,

A friend recommended a company to me called InsureCancer…..haven’t tried them myself yet, but my friend said they were good.

Hope you find an insurance that works for you - isn’t it bad enough having cancer and the Covid pandemic getting in the way of our travel plans, without insurers making it even harder for us?!!

    all the best,

    Bxx
