Hi, just wanted to say hello as new on here. Mums been diagnosed with ovarian and pertineal cancer. We have a treatment plan which will start soon.
She suffering alot with acid, shes eating small meals and often but we seem to be struggling getting gaviscon tablets on perscription even though uou can buy them over the counter! Shes struggling taking the liquid form.
Has anyone got any recommendations to help with acid, shes sick all the time and its heartbreaking.
Doctors arent very helpful at the local gp!
Hi Baw70 and welcome to you and your Mum to the Online Community. I'm actually from the Womb group and noticed your post about Avid Reflux which I developed over the last year. I know the misery of acid reflux and fully sympathise. My GP prescribed Lansoprazole (Omeprazole similar) which really helped. I had to cut a lot of things out of my diet. I love wholegrains and pulses and fruit/fibre but basically my gut became a fermentation vat which resulted in gas and acid reflux. So I eat quite a bland diet.
It’s always helpful to others if you write a little something (or a lot) about yourself and your Mum's journey to date. You can enter it into your profile (click on your username and select “Profile”) It’s helpful to other members with a similar diagnosis who can then hopefully answer your questions. It also means that you don't have to keep writing the same thing over and over. You can amend or update it at any time.
