Hello
I wondered if anyone else has experienced dehydration prior to diagnosis. About a year before I was diagnosed I had awful dehydration especially if I drank even one glass of wine. I had a terrible headache and felt sick. I stopped drinking and thought it was menopause. The only other symptom I now now I had was frequent urination but didn't connect it as I was drinking lots because of the dehydration. I was doing lots of exercise felt fit and healthy otherwise so assumed it was menopause!!! I lost my mum 4 years ago to this awful disease but realised about 3 years before her diagnosis she couldn't tolerate wine. She constantly drank water too. After my surgery in September removing ovary and cancer these symptoms completely disappeared and i can enjoy a glass of red wine.Just wondered if in hindsight anyone else had these symptoms. It could be a new early symptom and could save someone else. Thank you for your time xx
Hi Unimum
I'm not a member of this group but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies.
I put 'dehydration' into the group search bar to see if there were any previous posts which mention it as a symptom but drew a blank I'm afraid. Of course this doesn't mean that no one else experienced this just that they haven't posted about it.
I wonder if it might be an idea to speak to your CNS to see if she's aware of it as a symptom.
It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Hi Unimum, certainly an interesting thought.
I too have suffered with headaches, from white wine rather than wine in general, since the menopause, and have certainly felt more thirsty and found myself drinking more water in recent years. No idea if this is an early indicator of ovarian cancer or just a symptom of the menopause, but it’ll certainly be interesting to hear if others have experienced similar.
All the best, and it’d be great to hear from you again if you find out anything more,
Bx
Thank you for your reply. These symptoms completely disappeared when I had the cancerous ovary removed and I am still menopausal. I am trying to find someone to research further.
Hi, I haven’t been diagnosed yet, but I have most of the symptoms, one that isn’t mentioned..,, thirst! I am constantly thirsty, to the point I thought I had Diabetes. If I stop drinking, my mouth and back of throat get so dry, I start gagging. Also have a night cough due to dry throat. x
