So I've had pain constant for 6 weeks, I'm due for transvaginal scan on Tues, I have most symptoms of cyst/cancer. But the pain actually went away from pelvic area for 3 days (although still in lower back) but today it is back I was hoping it was just going to go away and not come back, but nope. Anyone who's diagnosed with cysts etc, can this happen...pain goes away a few days then comes back? Looks like hot water bottles on the go yet again. I'm just so frustrated and wanting answers which is understandable, but I'd like to here people's experience of pain regardless of the diagnosis please it's driving me crazy
Hi Jayej
no wonder you are fed up and frustrated. Have you been in contact with the pain management team ? Are you taking any pain relief at the moment ? Whilst I was waiting to get started on treatment and having tests I felt like I was left to it and the pain was awful.. I also have pain that jumps around ! It started in my left hip/leg, moved to right leg lower back and then further up my back. It’s been going on for 8 weeks now, luckily I am getting there with the right pain meds and the last radiotherapy has eased my lower back off. Sending best wishes and hope you get sorted soon
Hi, they have gave me coedine and yes that is what has happened with me, it started right side lower abdomen hip back and leg and now it's moving over to the left aswell it's actually causing more pain when I walk. My lower back feels like there's a ball inside just on the right side, I have to see what the scan reveals on Tues but I'm just preparing for the bad news & then at least if it's not as bad I won't be as scared if you get what I mean, mine also travels upto my ribs on the outer right side. It's like cramp mixed with trapped wind and pressure that's how I can explain the pain I get. Sending you lots of good health asap & pain relief
Hi I've just had ovarian cyst removed on Friday. Scans showed it on ovary but it was not on ovary it was next to it. I did not have any pain I just had a bit if pressure in pelvic area but not all the time. I had my monitored for a year and a half th3n I decided to get it removed as it grew a little bit it was nearly 6cm but does not look suspicious but they have sent it for testing to be sure. Surgery went well. It depends on how big your is, good luck with your scan hope it goes well. Any further question happy to answer.
Thank you for your reply, yeah I'm having lots of pain so quite unsure what's going on, I did have endometriosis removed via laparoscopy 3 years ago so could possibly be this back. I'm 50 in may so I'm very close to menopause, my periods having been hectic but unsure if it's due to what's going on or maybe nearing menopause. The pressure I get is mainly in my right side lower back but can feel like its pushing through to my lower abdomen. I will keep update if I hear anything tomorrow at my scan
Hi Jayej
After reading your post and your profile, your symptoms sounds almost identical to what I've been going through. Just wondering how your transvag scan went? I'm going for one on Sunday. Been waiting since mid-March for it, so I'm quite eager to finally get it done to see what's going on.
Hi, they found a complex cyst , but they don't seem to have concerns of cancer, I have to keep getting further scans if it's still there on next scan in 2 weeks, I still get pain and pressure and something still not right so I will be seeing my GP again when I return from holiday to push for something as I'm not happy that things are not improving at all. I know how you feel it's so scary, what are your symptoms? Atm mine is mainly pressure in my bladder but no frequency of urine or urgency, also pressure in my lower back with pain straight through to my groin/lower abdomen that can worsen through the day. The cyst isn't that big and my gynaecologist dosnt believe that it would be causing my pain. So I'm still no further forward 13 weeks of pain now.
Sorry that you're going through a tough time with the pain and not getting any further with your GP and gynae. Seems such little urgency in helping us ease these debilitating symptoms.
Two years ago I had my gallbladder out and have continued to have pains and problems since then. I've been for countless blood tests, urine tests, stool samples, MRIs, CT scans, endoscopes, and they still can't figure out the problem. My CA125 was just above range (it was 40.8). My symptoms: constant sharp pain under my right ribs, and central abdomen, radiating pain down my thighs, constant lower back pain (over kidney area), nausea, feeling full very quickly when eating, persistent bloating, bad reflux, night sweats, feel the urge to go to the loo, but nothing when I do, fatigue and breathless. Very heavy periods, sex is painful and I get sharp stabbing pains just next to my hip, just above my groin. Had these symptoms for the last 2 years on and off, but over the last 6 months they've just been constantly with me, every day!
I have also recently been diagnosed with VIN 2 and VIN 3. Not sure if there is somehow a link. Waiting for my gynae appointment early May to discuss treatment of that.
Just over 6cms I'm going to see what happens after my next scan then go from there. I'm starting to think is the pain actually coming from ovary & looking into other issues that can cause this pain hence why I'm going to see my GP it's not good having pain & pressure everyday it's draining. I will get it removed as it can turn into nasty pain I've been told, I definitely don't want anymore pain. Did you have a lot of pain with yours?
Yes your right with little urgency that's why I push my GP so much as you just never know. Your symptoms are very similar to mine I agree, tbh I'm starting to think maybe it's a gallbladder issue as it's quite common at 50+ and my pain is around kidney area but at the front my back pressure is lower down on right side, also the thigh pain with pain near appendix area and hip, I actually limp when I walk. The human body is so complex and trying to figure out what is going on is a task in itself.
I have heard that you can still get phantom pain after having gallbladder removed, do you feel the symptoms are very similar to the gallbladder pain or different.
Yeah me too everys single day and sometimes it just worsens that I actually have to do breathing exercises to calm it down, hot water bottle seems to help me with 45mg coedine when it's really bad.
I had to look up VIN as I didn't k ow what it was, so what will happen will they remove the cells somehow, ouch I can image that being very unpleasant. Random question, do you ever get nerve pain in that area as I do and it feels like I'm on fire just 1 side of vulva. I'm asking since symptoms are similar.
Hoping you get all treatment out of the way asap
