Hi everyone,
I had my first round of chemo a week and a day ago. Side effects have been manageable, however, I have really crazy temp fluctuations. I go from 35.5 in the morning to 37.5 in the evening. I put my heating on and it went to 37.7 but turned it off and obviously went down. I had post op Sepsis so I’m petrified of infection but then again I’m menopausal too. Oncology team said that maybe it might require a blood test but it is still within normal parameters. I’m also annoyed that the hospital where I have chemo is not my local so they want me to go far. Anyone had temp fluctuations too?
thank you
Hi RMM
After my 2nd round the same day I had a temperature which ended up going to the hospital. I remember I had an emergency number with the chemo nurses that I called and told me to go to hospital. I ended up staying at the hospital to monitor my temperature. Apparently it was a side effect from my chemo medication. In my 3rd cycle they added an extra medicine which I remember made me extremely sleepy during my treatment but luckily it worked and I didn’t have any problems after that.. if you have high temperature better to go to hospital to get checked than sorry.

It is been years but if I remember correctly I had call them when I was at 37.8 and when I was waiting at the hospital to be checked it has jumped to 39 without taking any paracetamol etc. I just noticed that we might have a different chemo treatment but I think the temperature is a common side effect.
