Hi all
I’m wondering if any of you with oc have hernias
i have a parastomal hernia and 2 incisional hernias.
I just wanted to ask if they are painful, I am really struggling at the moment feel heavy and like someone is trying to rip my belly out also when standing the pain it causes in my back is horrendous
Anyone else experiencing this
pam xx
Hi Pam
yes i too have an incisional hernia quite large, they monitor it on my ct scans, had it since surgery back in August 2020, they say its better to leave alone unless it gets twisted- it can be painful- feeling a bit like stitch , I call it “john hurt” cos it looks like that scene from alien! Bloody thing- it feels better when I’m wearing jeans which supports it - think lots of us have these hernias sadly- you do learn to live with it though . I fund laying down if you can if it starts to hurt helps
Love
Janet
Thanks janet
mine have started to hurt continuously now mainly the stoma one, I struggle to stand more than 10 mins at a time, hurt to cough or sneeze I don’t think I can cope if they say leave them alone.
im not sure if surgery is going to be an option anyway as I’ve had 6 chemo that haven’t worked for recurrence, four tumours that have grown slightly
need ct in a couple of weeks and see what my options are
