Hello everyone,
My mum has recently been told she’s being tested for ovarian cancer (waiting on blood tests to confirm atm) but it’s been such a long journey to get to this point - she’s been having symptoms since last year. She’s had an internal and external ultrasound too. Just in a weird limbo as I don’t want to worry twice but you can’t really ignore the nurse saying it’s highly likely it is ovarian cancer.
I guess I’m sharing this to process it more than anything as I feel very disconnected from everything right now.
Thank you for reading ️
Hi Brains16 and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
Waiting for the results of tests is always a very worrying time and it's natural to be feeling as you do.
As you know the online community is divided up into different support groups and I can see that you've also joined the family and friends groups which is a great place to chat to others who have a family member with cancer or waiting for results, etc.
I hope your mum doesn't have too much longer to wait as, from personal experience, I'm sure she'll feel more settled once she knows what she's dealing with.
x
Hi Brains16, they will be checking your mums CA125 levels which is an indicator but not necessarily so an indication of Ovarian cancer, that’s how mine was picked up. The levels were 247 b4 i started chemo and last week they were as low as 25 which is great. Praying for your mum x
