Hi Ladies having paclitaxol weekly just finished cycle four, and four to go, had scan last week, consultant ringing on the 3rd Feb with results and review. I am getting anxious as ca 125 is climbing each week it got down to 91 and is now sitting at 152 in a few weeks, am getting little stabbing pains in tummy so not sure if it’s chemo working or cancer running riot again. Been having chemo for two years virtually non stop and had debulking surgery in 2020. Consultant did say back in September if chemo stops working will refer me for clinical trail. I know ca125 can rise with other thing’s but last week it went up 20 in one week, Chemo nurse tried to convince me not to worry but not sure really. Anyone experienced the same but it’s been nothing to worry about?

  • Hi

I know how worrying it can be when something happens and it's hard not to worry even when your nurse tells you not to.

I don't have the experience you're after but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' your post back to the top of the discussion list where hopefully it'll be seen by someone who has the right experience.

  • Hi Pheobe

sorry to read about your CA125. You sound like a very strong person if you have had chemo virtually for nearly two years. I am currently on my first chemo regime having been diagnosed with stage 3c ovarian cancer following debulking surgery in October 2020. It is one of my fears that constant treatments and tests will become a way of life in the future….

I hope you got on okay with your appointment and have a treatment regime in place. Did they get you on a trial?. All the best
