Hi All , I've only recently heard about CA125 trends , could someone please explain (in the simplest way) what this exactly means.
My CA125 pre op was 291, after surgery was 270 after 2nd cycle of chemo dropped to 43 . I wanted to understand what this meant , a member of another group said to the oncologist would look at Trends instead ?? Don't know what this means and are my results something worth getting excited about ?
Very simply CA125 measures the cancer cells. Below 35 is considered normal. Most of us ovarian cancer sufferers agree if it is going up - bad if it is coming down -good! However every medical professional will tell you it's not that simple as there are lots of other things to consider.
Therefore your results are very good as you are on track to be way under 35 by the end of chemo.
