hi all, i was diagnosed in early september with OC and a large cancerous cyst sitting in pelvis pushing on kidney and bladder. i have had a biopsy and stent fitted through kidney into my bladder, but i do get little stressed waiting on results. just wondering how long from diagnosis to operation for removal of everything did you all have to wait
Hi there - sorry you find yourself here, but hopefully you’ll find some support in being part of this community and realising you’re not going through this alone.
In terms of waiting times from diagnosis to surgery, this really can vary a lot between different cases and different hospitals/geographies, as you’ll see if you follow some of the other threads on here. In my case, the gap was 7 weeks in total, which included the time between blood tests, scans, review by the medical team, and self-isolating pre-surgery.
I personally found the waiting the most anxious time, and I hope, like me, you’ll feel like you have some control back in your life once you have a treatment plan and timelines to work with. Meanwhile, the best advice I can give is to eat well, and get your rest and exercise when you’re able, as this will help you feel you’ve taken charge of something in this process, and get you into the best shape for your surgery and recovery when the time comes.
All the best, and it’d be great to hear how you’re getting on if you feel like posting again,
love Bx
Thank you for reply, i have just had a call to see the surgeon, i think on friday as they were discussing my case on monday, so hopefully will find out what happens next, will post again on next stage, and your right, its a fab community to be part of, i have been looking through posts, and feel more positive, even though its scary times.
Hi there , I had my CA125 blood test in early July , then Ultrasound, MRI and CT , and eventually had my op on 9 August so also about 6 weeks , the waiting for me was excruciating, but as soon as I had my date for my operation , I was weirdly quite excited to get the f**kers out of my body !!
Wishing you all the best ! Keep us informed.
