I have had numb and tingling in feet and hands since 1st chemo (October 2019 ) and its not getting any better in fact is worse, has anyone else suffering with this or know anything that would help

  • Hi Silver 77,

I also suffer with tingling and numbness in my feet (neuropathy), and have had it since about my 4th cycle of chemo until now (7 weeks after finishing last chemo). It’s very frustrating - especially as it seems there’s no guarantee when/if it will get better.

I was recommended B vitamins, which I’ve been taking for a couple of months now - B6 and B12 are particularly relevant apparently, although I take a B Complex that includes them all. I try to stay as active as possible, as I find it’s worse when I put my feet up (and I have extra thick cosy socks to wear then !).

Hoping others on this site will also have some useful advice for you.

    Love Bx

Thank you Bx I am taking B6 with no improvement so I will get some B12 as well, also your tip for B complex could be beneficial,  x  I also have some warm sock as my feet are always cold x

  • Hi again Silver 77,

Just wanted to pass on another tip someone gave me for getting a good nights sleep with the numbness and tingling in the toes - massage them with Vic’s VapoRub before you get into bed. Really does help keep them feeling warm and cosy.

Hope you’re doing OK? - all the best,

    Bx

I don't know if you have heard about this - I put cold packs on my hands and feet during the taxol infusions. It is supposed to help with neuropathy. I have done #3 rounds and chemo and thankfully no symptoms so far. You can buy various products which I do use but also add freezer blocks when they start to warm up. Hope that helps. Sally
