Hi all, I was diagnosed with high grade serous ovarian cancer 2b last may. Had total hysterectomy, no sign of disease then 6 month preventative chemo and given the all clear. Had CT scan last month too for a pain in my side, all clear. When to see my consultant last well due to bleeding, and he says the buggers back in my vagina. Has anyone similar experience? He took biopsy and is phoning me within 2 weeks, the dreaded waiting! Trying to stay off google and just look at all your inspirational stories xx I’m also brca2 x
Hi Sunshine 1974, so sorry you find yourself here again, but hoping you will find support and hope from others on this site.
The news of a recurrence is something we all dread - I too was diagnosed at stage 2b, had a full hysterectomy, and have just completed 6 cycles of preventative chemo, and after 2 CT scans, am seeing my Consultant this week (anticipating the all clear, but taking nothing for granted).
Your story highlights two things for me:
1) we can never be complacent about having “survived” this disease, and
2) we should be thankful for the ongoing medical checks which allow for any recurrences to be picked up early and acted upon quickly, and also for the new research and drugs becoming available all the time that give us more options and hope for a cure.

I really hope the waiting time goes quickly for you and that you soon have a plan for next steps. Be thinking of you - and it would be great to hear how you get on when you feel up to posting again,

Thanks so much for your reply, and you’re absolutely right. Got to stay focussed on the fight ️x Hope all goes well with your appointment
Thanks Sunshine 1974 - and the same to you

Hi all
I was diagnosed in Feb 21 with aggressive stage 4, I've had radical debulking surgery I now have a stoma, I had alot removed during surgery peritoneum or part of it omentum all lymph nodes in that area bowel resection alot of cleaning and clearing cells from scar tissue urethra and other areas,
I tried the maintenance drugs but couldn't tolerate them, it was confirmed on 6th March it's back, around abdominal wall and stoma site, I thought I was going to be having a stoma reversal soon now I don't think I can have it at all.
How many times can it come back and our bodies tolerate surgery and chemo.
It scares me x
