Hi wonderful women
I am awaiting my debulking surgery, scheduled for 20th March. I came into A & E yesterday as experience another bout of fast onset severe abdominal pain. Admitted to gynaecology and sent for another CT as the suspicion has been twisted mass, but just been told I now have bit more fluid than last time and mass has increased in size from 9.2 to 13.5. They sticking with plan for surgery next week. I have also been diagnosed as having Grade 1 cancer in womb, but will have to wait to test mass whilst I am under to k ow what that is.
has anyone else had mass grow so quickly? What was outcomes etc? I was feeling positive about surgery and follow up treatment but now terrified dealing with something much more aggressive.
Mine grew from 15cm mid-November when it was discovered, to 22cm by the time I had surgery 11 weeks later. Histology came back stating it was low grade (so slow growing) so it’s not necessarily a bad thing.
Hope surgery goes well for you.
Thank you so much for your reply - hope restored!! May I ask how you recovered from the surgery and what treatment following that was? I hope you are doing ok now x
Definitely - I was sure that growth wouldn’t be classified as low growing, even my GP was, but apparently it is!
Recovery was ok - slow but steady.
The relevant staging biopsies and tests etc weren’t done but follow up scans were clear so no further treatment, just close surveillance and scans.
