Hi i have have a raised CA125 of 43 and have been for an ultra sound today and it has shown that I have a cyst of my ovary. I have an emergency appointment tomorrow at the hospital. I am obviously thinking the worst. What steps could they take next and has anyone had the above and it wasn’t cancer. I’m going out my mind and crying every time I look at my little 3 year old boy. I just feel so scared.
thank you
Hi, last November I had an MRI scan on my back. The scan showed a large, 20cm mass on my ovaries. Like you I feared the worst. I was referred for emergency appointments and after a CT scan it was decided to operate, not at my local hospital but 100 miles away at the cancer unit.
I had the cyst removed, together with both ovaries and the Omentium on 1 March, I had had an hysterectomy 35 years ago.
Operation went ok, was in hospital for a week. I'm now 2 months post op and last week it was confirmed that growth was non cancerous.
I felt shocked at the whole thing, but relieved it is all over. My advice to you is listen to the consultants, and rest. You will get through this. I wish you well in your treatment.
Thank you so much for your reply. I’m so glad everything came back ok for you. Reading this has given me some hope so thank you for replying xx
Glad that you’re on the road to recovery and that it wasn’t malignant
