I had a total hysterectomy in September and have had 6 cycles of chemo, my ct scan and blood tests are good but I have been put on maintenance treatment, is it possible that I will be able to stop these in the future or will I be taking these until they stop working and it comes back?
Hi. I had 3 rounds of chemotherapy, debulkng surgery last August followed by 3 more chemotherapy . I was started on Zedula in December and have had a clear scan in February. Another scan in May seems to be every 3 months. All clear so far. My understanding is this is what will happen to monitor if tablets are keeping things away . As long as your bloods are good and no side effects you will probably be on them long term and hopefully it doesn't return anytime soon. I feel really well just get weary, normal life and try not to dwell on any possible relapse. Taking the tablets is giving you a chance of staying in remission . Hope all goes well and try to be positive it really does help . Don't let this awful disease be your main focus. Stay safe.
Big hugs
Best to write questions down we always come out wishing we had ask something we forgot. The nurses are good but as some of these drugs are very new the best person to ask is your oncologist. Avoid Googling anything its not up to date and usually inaccurate. Hope you feel more reassured soon .x
