Breathlessness after chemo

Morning I have had 4 cycles of chemotherapy and after the dreaded 3rd cycle scan my tumor had reduced from 7.5 to 3cm and gone from my liver not sure about the peritoneum yet.

I'm on week 2 following cycle 4 and normally I'm feeling a bit better but I'm very breathless just walking up the stairs and around the house, has anyone else had this?

Thanks everyone.

  • Hi Foxygirl,

When I suffered breathlessness during chemo it was as a result of my red blood cell / HB count dropping.

Best to let your medical team know as soon as possible so they can check if that’s the problem. I think sometimes low blood pressure/dehydration can have a similar effect, but either way there’ll be something they can do to help for sure.

In my case, I needed to have blood transfusions on a couple of occasions and the breathlessness went away immediately.

Yes,I have/do suffer with breathlessness. In 2019,I was placed in an induced coma. So, I have lung damage which is always why I say I'm breathless. Since starting chemo, it seems worse
