Hi Wife signed us up to the gym Just wondering if weights etc are ok .not to go mad but just to keep in shape .Trying to get an answer out of a consultant ,registrar is nigh on impossible. Was diagnosed with PV in 2021 have interferon 1weekly .Just seeing if any one does this at the gym etc
Nothing wrong with keeping fit but you will have to declare your cancer diagnosis in your enrolment form for the gym….. and if the gym has not asked for medical conditions it should as they have a responsibility to ensure their members are safe.
I'm interested to know how you get on in the gym. I'm a recently diagnosed ET patient taking Hydroxycarbomide. I've always been very fit and active and have carried on at the same level of exercise as pre-diagnosis. So far I haven't seen any drop off in performance level.
Matt
