Hi I'm 18 years old and was diagnosed with leukemia when I was 16 and hit remission however when I was going through remission I had a relapse I was 17 years old and had to do a stem cell transplant which went well except I had some infections and so had a colostomy bag placed and after sometime I was meant to return my stoma but started having lymph nodes and feeling breathless so a biopsy was done and now at the age of 18 I have non hodgkins lymphoma. I not really looking for any pity cause right now my mental health is really bad and everyone around isn't sure how to talk or even be with me plus the chemo is making me really tired I was just wondering if there's someone who doesn't mind texting once in a while or sending tiktoks cause I just need someone to talk to sometimes without having someone pity cause my throat is hurting from chemo or e.t.c. so if anyone wants to just send tiktoks or anything it would be really great. Thanks
My 7 year old son has been diagnosed with T cell Lymphoma Lymphoblastic. Sending you all the best wishes and I've come across people who have had 3 relapses and are fine now. Stay strong and may the good forces be with you!
Hi Starizz and a warm welcome to this corner of the Community although I am always sorry to see folks joining us. I am Mike and I help out around our various Lymphoma groups.
So sorry to read about the journey you have been on, do you know what type of Non-Hodgkin lymphoma you have?.... as there are over 60 different types of Lymphoma.
The Macmillan Community is an anonymous support platform. This is why we all use Avatars.....so personal contact details are not encouraged as this breaks the confidentiality rules.
However you contact members using the Direct Message system..... you would need to click on a members community name then send them a friend request and it's then up to that member to accept this.
Dp also check out the Lymphoma Action website. Lymphoma Action is the only UK Lymphoma Specific Charity who have lots of good reliable information, videos and run regular Lymphoma Online Support Groups for patients with a specific Young Persons group.
They also have a great Lymphoma Action Buddy Service where people can be linked up with someone who has walked the same treatment journey. They also have a Lymphoma helpline on 0808 808 5555 where Sharon or Nic will be on hand to give you some support - open every week day from 10 till 3.
Happy to chat more.
