Just joined.

Was diagnosed with Waldenstroms Macroglibuininemia earlier this year  undergone bone marrow biopsy, plasma exchange and 4 cycles of chemo

Is there anyone else with this rare form of cancer?

  • Hi  and welcome to this corner of the Community although always sorry to see folks joining us. I am Mike  and I help out around our various blood cancer groups.

I don’t have WM but was diagnosed in 1999 with a rare, incurable but treatable type of Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Stage 4a (CTCL) so although my Lymphoma ‘type’ is different I do understand the journey.

WM is indeed rare but we have have a few folks with this type go Lymphoma on the group so lets look for them to be looking in. You can put Waldenstroms Macroglibuininemia into the search tool Mag near the top and look at all the older posts and as always you can hit reply on any post and see it the members still use the community.

Do check out Lymphoma Action, a small but very active UK Lymphoma Specific Charity who have lots of good information, videos and run regular regional online Lymphoma support groups and indeed a very great Lymphoma Buddy Service where you can be connected with someone else with your type of Lymphoma.

Also check out for a local Maggie's Centre in your area as they run Heamatology Support Groups and indeed we have someone with WM in our group.

But on the whole Lymphoma is Lymphoma and we mostly walk the same journey so always happy to talk more at any time.
