Diagnosed a couple of weeks ago. Had a bone barrow aspiration and trephine biopsy on Wednesday. Waiting for a date for a CT scan. Just a bit scared by it all.

  • Hi Su M and welcome to our corner of the Community but sorry to see you joining us.

Most folks will say the ‘wait’ for your exact diagnosis can be the hardest part. There are over 60 types and subtypes of Lymphoma so it takes time to get it just right.

I have been on my journey for over 22 years now, lots of treatments but I am still around and doing great (see my profile)

The main thing you need to ‘get’ in these early days that although you have cancer, blood cancers  unlike solid tumour cancers like breast, lung, kidney..... are very treatable with great results, yes treatment is sometimes rubbish but it’s normally for a short time.

The other very important thing to ‘get’ is that even if you are Stage 4..... this in other cancers is just not great news - in blood cancers it is a guide as where in your body it is presenting, what treatment is required and for how long.... I was Stage 4a and I am talking with you today.

Information is key but not random Google I formation - a dangerous place to go. But check out Lymphoma Action, a small UK Lymphoma Specific Charity who have lots of information, videos and run regular regional online Lymphoma Zoom support groups and indeed a great Lymphoma Buddy Service.

    Happy to talk more ((hugs))
