Well tomorrow Monday will be my 4th week of chemotherapy, I'm starting to see a pattern of Monday to Thursday feeling rough, hiccups, 3 hours sleep per night, hyper and then by sat and Sunday feeling OK but knowing its about to start again. Does it get any easier as the cycle moves on.16 weeks of this?
Hi sweetie, I'm sorry you're finding things a bit tough. My partner has just finished his 16th week and is having a break before facing the next stage of his treatment.
My heart goes out to you, it really does. For me, Fridays (chemo day) always meant keeping a great distance for a good 36 hours, as he was also given his steroids at the same time, which made him VERY abrupt and short tempered.
I truly hope that you have family or someone close who can be there to support you.
I must say, though, that his treatment was nowhere near as drastic and life changing as I'd expected.
Take care and spoil yourself when you can.
Thinking of you.

Hello, saw your post and as I've been through 6 months of self administered chemotherapy, I thought I would reply with my experiences.
I am 72, reasonably fit and was diagnosed with Mgus, the smouldering Myeloma, then mm all over a period of 6-7years, I was on velcade injections twice a week, these along with the blood thinning injections every day, Dextamethasone, thalidomide. One minute exhausted, next minute climbing the walls. It does get better as your body adjusts, but these are powerful drugs and they affect different people different ways.
I lost my appetite, then it came back with a vengeance and I would eat almost anything.
The treatment will make you miserable a lot, when it happened to me, I thought of my family, looked in the mirror and say to myself " I am blessed" this helped me get past the bad times.
I lost weight, my hair thinned and I felt tired a lot, BUT, I am 18 months out of chemotherapy and am " still in remission " I have put my weight back on, my hair is thicker than ever and I feel great.
Listen, it does get better, takes time, but it does.
We send you lots of love and our very best wishes and remember...A day without laughter is wasted.xxx

Hi Mike
quick question did you suffer a lot with bone pain? I am and I’m hoping you’re going to tell me it gets better or someone else out there is!! X
it’s best that you talk to your doctor or specialist nurse, who can best guide you with any pain relief.
this maybe isn’t quite the answer you wanted, but it’s factual, so it won’t mislead you.
much love, remember to smile today x
Mike
