I've recently been diagnosed with a melanoma on my cheek. When it was removed it was suspected that it might be a melanoma but that they had caught it early. The biopsy confirmed it and rated it at stage 1A. I now need a wide margin excision. I've only got to wait just over a week for my surgery. The first wound healed so well you could hardly see my scar within a couple of weeks of the first surgery. The 2nd scar will inevitably be bigger - just hope it's as neat.
Hello I’ve been in exactly the same situation , with same grading as you , I also had 2 lymph nodes removed , my second wound did heal really well and it’s really neat , so hopefully yours will be 
, I had my dressing checked after a week , but chose to keep a clean fresh dressing on for another week , and I think that helped a bit with the healing process
