Hi I’m new. My name is Jay
I’ve had melanoma in situ and Lentigo maligna removed in 2015,2016,2019,2024 and 2025.
September 2025 something started to grow in the same place. Biopsied in November tumour removed late December.
Melanoma, tumour was ulcerated and fungating. PT4b N11c Group stage 111c due to Microsatellite, Breslow thickness 25mm and mitoses 15. Just has wide excision and lymph node biopsy (Monday). One node was too dangerous to remove so has been left.
Recovering as well as can be expected physically but mentally I feel like I’m internally screaming and I can not stop. The waiting for results and consultations I find very hard.
Any advice or reply is most welcome. I understand we’re all tired so will reply when we can. Sending so much love and positive thoughts to you all. Bye for now
Hi Hopefullyhope and a very warm welcome to our corner of the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I’m Anne, and I was diagnosed with melanoma nearly 10 years ago now so I have a good idea how you're feeling right now.
I think we'll all agree that waiting for consultations and results can be very hard. I found that the best way of dealing with this for me was to try and carry on as normal, as much as possible, and at the same time find time to do things I enjoyed.
You might find this article about how to ease worry when waiting for medical test results helpful and, don't forget you can speak to the nurses on the Macmillan Support Line. They're available daily from 8am to 8pm on 0808 808 0000.
It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Another thing I try to remember, and live by, was something I was told years ago and that's "worrying won't change the outcome but it will ruin the present."
Do you know roughly how long your results will be?
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
