Hi All.

I'm new to this group and want to share my story.

I was diagnosed with stage 3 melenoma end of January this year.

I had 3 lumps that needed surgery. One on my hip, buttock and one inside my pelvis.

I had surgery March this year to remove the lumps.

In July the cancer returned and the lump on my hip is now currently growing.

I have received immunotherapy to which the side effects were awful as a I had dual.

I ended up in hospital for two weeks on a TPN drip as I wasn't eating and constantly vomiting and other end.

I got through this with two lots of  IV medication that I thought was working but still had the terrible stomach and bowel problems so was then again in hospital.

I was put in an amazing drug to cure this which I'm not on now.

I'm currently waiting to receive radiotherapy on the growing lump.

At the moment I have rash on my leg. Possibly Shingles or Cellulitis.

Just feel so fed up as I haven't worked since march. And feel like a black cloud over me permanently that is battling through so many hoops. I just don't feel like me.

I'm usually a busy person.

I'm 47 and a Mum of two teenagers.

Does anyone else feel like this?

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to our group which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m Anne and I was diagnosed with Stage 2a melanoma  almost 9 years ago now.

It sounds like you've gone through a very tough time and although I don't have any relevant experience to share with you, there are lots of people in the group who are Stage 3 and on immunotherapy. hopefully at least one of them will pop on soon to share their experiences with you.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • My journey/situation has some similarities to your story.  It's not always easy to just get on with things!  I hope your radiotherapy appointments come through soon and you respond well!  Take care and take it easy!
