Had a phone call from the GP's receptionist today. It basically went like this 'hi, dermatology have had a look at the photos the doctor sent and want to see you'.
I asked when, and the reply was 'don't know, bye'.
Is the equivalent of the letter is in the post?
The same hospital dept last year told me I had melanoma then told me they were sorry they got it wrong.
I wait to find out more...
Hi Max2023 welcome to the forum and I am sorry to hear what has Been happening for you..That's a shocker that the receptionist left you hanging like that. Can you call back and ask to speak to the GP directly as they may be able to tell you more. I would say to the GP about the call you have had and how confusing this has felt for you. If you felt that it would help to speak with someone directly then please do give the Macmillan Line a call and ask for their advice. 08088080000. Best wishes and I Hooe that you get some clarity for you. Gail
HI Gail, I tried asking before if I could pass a message onto the doctor because I could not get an appointment for over a month, and was told that I could, but having the doctor read the message would classify as an appointment so they wouldn't anyway.
Just had a notice pop up on the NHS app that I have a pending referral to dermatology which should be reviewed by 9th September.
Hi Max2023
I don’t think in your case the gp will be able to be much help, as they’ve just sent the photos to dermatology. The message has given you a timeframe for dermatology to review, so the gp’s involvement for now is done.
It must be making you extra anxious having had a misdiagnosis of melanoma before and the waiting is tough, but I hope you’ll eventually get reassuring news.

That’s good news you haven’t had a long wait Max2023
I hope you’ll get good news tomorrow, but please do come back and let us know how you get on.

Hi Max2023
Thanks for coming back with such a good update-I’m glad that nothing of concern was found.
