My husband was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma in December 2024.we were told there was no cure but he was offered ipi/nivo immunotherapy treatment for 2 years. He has just completed treatment 4 of ipi/nivo and will now start nivo only. He has had a few side effects ,slight rash treated with steroid cream, a few temperatures of 30+ that go with paracetamol. He is now suffering from extremely cold white hands which I have read is also a side effects. Has anyone else suffered this one. I am now getting extremely stressed knowing that the first comparison scan will be coming up soon, can’t stop thinking about it. would love to hear about any positive results people have received. forgot to mention hubby’s cancer is stage 4 .
Hi Janabells
Although I haven't had immunotherapy, I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.
I presume that your husband has spoken to his hospital team about his extremely cold hands and that they haven't been able to help?
While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your husband's diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
I've been on Nivolumab for one year as part of a combination treatment (along with Cabozantinib) for stage 4 kidney cancer. I get the cold hands, and have started to develop some neuropathy in my hands and feet, annoying but manageable. The Nivolumab is really working though, has made a huge difference. I've had 13 Nivo infusions at 4 week intervals. It's got rid of all my secondary cancer and shrunk my primary. Stick with it!
