On Monday my husband was diagnosed with malignant melanoma.the cancer is in the lining around his left lung and it has caused a pleural effusion which has to be drained regularly due to shortness of breath and constant cough.has anybody else come across this cancer please.i am so scared
Hi Janabells and a very warm welcome to the group which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
You'll find that everybody in the group has come across melanoma either as, like me, a patient or as the partner or friend of someone who has it.
It's natural to be scared and I wondered if there was something in particular you wanted to talk about, ie treatment, shared experiences of melanoma in the lungs, etc?
It would be great if you could put something about your husband's diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
