I had a wide excision in April for a positive melanoma biopsy. SLNb negative.

I’ve had my 3 month post op appointment with mole mapping and have been told I have another very suspicious mole in a completely different site. I am waiting for my biopsy appointment.

I have also had an ocular melanoma ( not related to cutaneous melanoma) and have, coincidentally, started getting vision loss in the affected eye. This is being looked into separately.

I am on immunosuppressant drugs for rheumatoid arthritis and am wondering if anyone has been advised to stop these as there is an increased risk of skin cancer?

Thank you for adding me to your community! It’s good to have support from others that have a similar experiences.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that you've had another suspicious mole removed recently and you're now waiting for results. I'll be keeping everything crossed that this one is okay.

I don't have personal experience with being on immunosuppressant drugs for rheumatoid arthritis but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list where it'll be easier to spot.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
