Hi , I am jeff and my wife is Chant.

My wife was diagnosed with cancer that had spread to others areas 4 weeks ago , within a week of being sent home I had to call for an ambulance because she couldn't get herself up from a chair because of the pain .

Within 2 or 3 days of being in the hospital she became paralysed from the waist down , the cancer had spread to her lung, liver and spine .

She had radiotherapy , 4 sessions .

She was given 6mths to live but with treatment ( immunotherapy) it could be extended , she is in a great pain when trying to move , it's horrible to see , I am at the moment her carer , it's tuff times for sure

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that your wife has been diagnosed with kidney cancer which has spread to other areas of her body. This must be an incredibly hard time for you both.

So that you connect with people who have the same type of cancer as your wife, I'm going to recommend that you join the kidney cancer group, which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.

Another group which I think you'll benefit from joining is the carers only group which is a supportive place to discuss your worries and emotions.

To join either or both of these just click on the links I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here, and join in with existing conversations by clicking on reply.

It would be great if you could pop something about your wife's diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community, just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help if I can.
