Hi all. Newbie here. Its great to be able to link with others going through the same emotions. I had a melanoma diagnosis from a mole on my toe. The toe had to be removed along with a SLNB done at the same time. After an agonising 4 week wait I got the results I dreaded. Malignent cells were found in the lymph nodes so now I need a scan. Although I have a good support network I am petrified of whats to come and dont know what to do with myself. Anyone experienced anything similar and what can i expect from the scan results?

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that your sentinel lymph node biopsy has shown that there are melanoma cells present. I was fortunate in that I didn't have any cancer cells present there so can't help with what happens when you get your scan results. However, there are lots of people in the group who have been in a similar position to yourself and I'm going to 'tag'  into my reply to you and hope that they can pop on and tell you about their experiences.

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and tests so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
