I came across this Melanoma page when looking for information on womb cancer, which I have been diagnosed with and has just been successfully removed by hysterectomy
I was diagnosed with Melanoma in 2004 and within space of few weeks was in and out of hospital, after tumour and lymph nodes removed.
Back then there was no support that I was aware of, so I just got on with it , which was in the long term not ideal for my overall health.
To see a forum to share everyone's tboughts and experience is such a great support.
The one thing that has carried me through is what my first consultant said to me...keep your head and thoughts posotive and your body will follow! As worrying just weakens you and the body.
Main thing is to stay out of sun totally..as walking or playing in sun does damage so stay safe
Best wishes to all going through the journey..stay strong!
Hi BBELLA3 and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
Like you, I'm also dealing with my second cancer having been diagnosed with melanoma in 2016 and then breast cancer earlier this year. I have found both this group and the breast cancer group really great places to discuss things.
I'm sure if you join the womb cancer group, you'll find the ladies over there very supportive.
If this is something that you'd like to do, clicking on the link I've created will take you there where you can then join and start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Wishing you all the best
